Earth Altar is an opportunity to participate in that awakening, as Mauritius emerges as a guardian of ancient memory.
A journey to the soul of an island
Over the six days of this retreat, we will journey to some of the world's most concealed power places:
ancient pyramids,
otherworldly chakra-coloured landscapes,
dragon-shaped, carved coastlines
and ancient, indigenous, ebony forests.
We will visit dormant volcanoes, wild waterfalls and ancient vortices. while practicing the art of Earth Work through open-hearted presence and embodiment.
Guided by a local whale whisperer, we will also journey into the surrounding seas to respectfully encounter wild Sperm and Humpback whales, as well as rays and dolphins, in their natural environment.
Whale encounter
At the southern edge of the island lies the astonishingly beautiful phenomenon known as the 'Underwater Waterfall'. This visual effect is created by Mauritius resting on an ocean shelf thousands of metres above the deep seabed.
Sheltered from the constant noise of the open ocean, these waters form a uniquely resonant environment.
It is here that whale populations thrive. In this quieter field, they are more receptive and open to communion, moving along the song lines of the island and sounding the deeper intelligence of the ocean itself.
Earth Grid Work
Grid work lies at the heart of this retreat. It is the practice of intentionally engaging with the Earth’s energetic architecture, often referred to as ley lines, the large-scale meridians through which the planet regulates and distributes energy.
The places they converge are often marked by natural formations, sacred sites, or unusual geological features.. Like acupuncture points in the human body, they can be met and activated through embodied presence and extrasensory awareness.
Mauritius offers a powerful field for this work. A volcanic island scattered with zircon crystals, minerals billions of years older than the land itself. These zircons have given rise to discoveries suggesting that beneath Mauritius lie the remnants of an ancient, submerged landmass.
Locally, this lost land is remembered as Mauritia, to some Mu and to others... Lemuria. What matters is that the land itself continues to whisper its magic through Mauritian soil.

Your Guide
Dr. Leila Sadien is an integrative medical doctor, mystic and earth-based shamanic practitioner whose work bridges human healing with the exploration of Consciousness. For over two decades, she has worked with the human body as a living field of intelligence, while guiding those ready for healing, initiation and intimate reconnection with self and place.
Her retreat work is informed by extensive experience in shamanic process, somatic awareness, and ritual held in nature. She is known for creating spaces that are precise, grounded, wild, celebratory and deeply respectful of both the land and the individuals she works with.
